October 2, 1999
San Fernando Valley Yacht Club
sponsored the 31st annual
Sailing Symposium
Out of the Pardee Sea Base, Marina Del Rey
They assigned the crew and leaders to 25 to 35 ft yachts. In the
morning the owner/skipper of the yachts taught us how to function as crew for
the the ships. After lunch we sailed out to Santa Monica Bay where we
participated in three races. After the races we sailed back to the marina,
helped the skippers clean up the ships then had a dinner. At the end of
the day awards were given out for the top four team. Our crew (464) had
members on the 2nd and 3rd place boats.
